Dane Cook's TROUBLEMAKER Coming to Showtime – GeekMundo

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Dane Cook do a major stand-up event, but he’s back and in full effect with his directorial debut and new schtick, Troublemaker, premiering October 17th on Showtime.  And it feels like it’s 2006 again.  Snark aside, I watched one of his shows on Comedy Central, and found myself laughing.  I’m very picky about comedians, so the guy is funny.

In TROUBLEMAKER, Cook dismantles the modern-day relationship, holds a mirror up to society and generally torches observational humor to the bone.  Cook shares his beliefs and perspectives with his fans and he does not hold back.  Delving into a wide range of topics from tech relationships to blowing the lid off of gender secrets to our hidden Internet lives and how we mask our depression, joy and temptations – no topic is off limits.

Dane Cook has maintained his reputation as one of today’s most prolific stand-up comedians selling out Madison Square Garden multiple times over, while simultaneously distinguishing himself as a charismatic and versatile actor in a variety of film and television projects.  Cook recently wrapped his 20-date “Under Oath” tour.  With this set, he aimed to emulate the tone of 2003’s Harmful If Swallowed album, which just celebrated its 10-year anniversary.

Troublemaker airs Friday, October 17th at 10 p.m.   Will you be watching?
