mun2 has officially announced the series premiere for its new MMA reality series, Combate Americas, will be Sunday, February 23rd at 10 PM EST.   The series will feature a host of Latino celebs like Daddy Yankee, Chino y Nacho, Elvis Crespo, and Royce Gracie.

Get your first look at the contestants before the series premiere, and check out the trailer which highlights just how much these guys have at stake, and what motivates them.  Oh, there’s a little drama in there too.

The series will give an in-depth look at the fighters from a very personal perspective of where they come from, who they are and what made them become MMA professionals. An inside look at not only the challenges set to these individuals to achieve a spot in the franchise but as well, the real-life dedication, sacrifice and adversity that living within and from this growing popular sport demands to make it to la Jaula (the Cage). The competition series will reward a contract to one fighter in two weight classes: featherweight and welterweight.

I’ll be watching. I’m interested to see whether there are any similarities to UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter.  Hmmm… Will you be watching?
