Here is the new Triple 9 trailer starring Casey Affleck and Anthony Mackie as partners working together to find a group of bank robbers pulling off impossible jobs. Triple 9 really looks like a great corrupt cop movie. The nice thing is that it is done by Open Road Films and they have no problem doing gritty crime movies that the big studios seem to be scared of. It really has the feel of a cross between Training Day and Inside Man, two amazing crime films if you ask me. I am not so sure about Casey Affleck’s hair in this, but we will see. Some may question his acting but I think he can pull this off with this amazing cast. Triple 9 hits theaters on February 26. It is directed by John Hillcoat and stars Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Casey Affleck, along with Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot and Anthony Mackie and Clifton Collins Jr.
Plot Synopsis: When a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist, they realize the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. The chaos that ensues when a police officer is shot in the line of duty is just the diversion they’ll need to do the job, but whether they have the will to kill one of their own is an entirely different matter. Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.
