The New York Daily News reported that Paul Rudd and Marvel getting one step closer to clinching the deal to have him play Ant-Man:
The 44-year-old comedy veteran is in negotiations with Marvel Studios to play the titular size-changing biochemist in director Edgar Wright’s “Ant-Man,” Variety first reported.
Rudd —who will next be seen in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” opening Friday — had been rumored to be up for the part since October, a sign that Wright’s script may lean as heavy on comedy as action.
Paul Rudd seems to be the guy that the geeks can rally behind. He’s got a nice CV. If Robert Downey Jr. can take the Iron Man movie franchise to the next level, Rudd can most certainly pull it off with the right material from Edgar Wright and company. Do you think that they could make it work?
