I have a very real and almost crippling fear of water deeper than three feet, because I can’t swim. I’m also not fond of the dark, or tight spaces with a ton of people, so this trailer for 20th Century Fox’s Pressure was like my worst nightmares playing out on film.
In the trailer, a team of divers descend to the bottom of the ocean, quite by accident, after their autonomous underwater vehicle is cut off from the ship above. They’ve lost connection to the ship, they are running out of air, and they are so deep underwater that it is pitch black. This will not end well.
A group of men are trapped in a small pod on the sea bed, after diving down to fix an oil pipeline and becoming separated from their ship.
Pressure stars Danny Huston, Joe Cole, Ian Pirie, Matthew Goode, and Alan McKenna. Granted, the film has been making the rounds since earlier this year, it’s becoming more widely available via download and DVD at the end of August.
