According to ZeeNews, Heineken made the bid to have their beer in the film which in turn helped to finance ‘Skyfall’, a film that’s not exactly cheap. What did Daniel Craig have to say about it? Not much. According to him, Bond drinks anything from beer to champagne:
“A movie like this costs 118 million dollars to make – it’s the nature of it, the size of the movie. And it costs another 200 million dollars to sell it. So the 200 million dollars has to come from somewhere,” the Daily Express quoted him, as telling Vanity Fair magazine.
“Product placement, whichever way you look at it, whether you like it or you think it’s disgusting or whatever, it’s what it is.
“Heineken gave us a ton of money for there to be Heineken in a shot in a bar… Without them, the movie couldn’t get sold,” he said.
What did you expect from a man (Bond, not Craig… That’s my dude) who screws most anything that walks? Seriously, though. As a James Bond fan, I’m sure Bond drinks beer among other things, but I hope producers don’t go making this a habit. At some point, you have to say no, right? I mean, are the producers going to make Bond drink milk at the bar if Big Dairy all of a sudden offers them tons of money?
