Honestly, along with Ren & Stimpy, I have to give credit to Hey Arnold! for teaching me from an early age that jazz can be unequivocally cool. And it made living in the city look better than living in the ‘burbs! There was always something going on, and there were so many diverse characters. You don’t see that as much anymore which is sort of lame.
When I bucked up on these semi-realistic portraits of Arnold, Helga G. Pataki, Gerald, Phoebe, and the rest of his little homies from PS 118 by Kristy Anne Ligones, I was a little taken aback. They are quite realistic, and kind of creepy which made it hard to look away. But it works! My dude Arnold though… O_o
