THE CHOICE is Another Banal Nicholas Sparks Movie – GeekMundo

I’m going to label this under “31 Days of Horror” because I’m being shady, and the banality of it all is nightmarish.  Nicholas Sparks continues to offer us basic bitch movies every year, and 2016 will be no exception.  His latest attack on the wonder of film is The Choice, which features the same humdrum ass story about two basics coming together to do basic shit.  “Oh, woe is me!  I love the really hot guy/girl next door, and whatever shall I do?” (insert faint here).

While we’re going to include the synopsis, I can summarize this atrocity for you in a few words.  Ever seen a trailer for or an actual Nicholas Sparks movie?  There you have it.  That’s what this movie is about.

Synopsis:

THE CHOICE tells the story of Travis Shaw and Gabby Holland, who meet first as neighbors in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen.  Spanning a decade and tracing the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life’s most defining events, this story features a memorable ensemble of friends and family in Sparks’ beloved North Carolina setting, culminating in the question that every couple must ask themselves:  how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

Lionsgate presents a Nicholas Sparks / Safran Company / POW! production.

Cast: Benjamin Walker, Teresa Palmer, Maggie Grace, Alexandra Daddario, Tom Welling, Brett Rice, and Tom Wilkinson

It’ll be in theaters on February 5th, 2016.
