There is no narration, in fact, there are little to no words in the first official trailer for The Revenant (20th Century Fox), but it’s powerful nonetheless. It’s so hard-hitting, and so beautifully filmed that one can hardly wait for the film, the latest from Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman), to premiere this September. Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Great Gatsby), who plays a trapper hellbent on getting vengeance on those who left him for dead in the American wilderness, should definitely get that Oscar that’s been eluding him all these years. Don’t sell Tom Hardy (Child 44, The Dark Knight Rises) short, either. He’s definitely well-suited to act alongside Leo, and I’m happy to see them reunited after Inception.
Watch:
Yes! Yes! Yes! The angst! The survival! The self-reflection! And the cinematography… *Le Sigh* Brilliant!
