If the previous trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant (20th Century Fox) left you confused and a little baffled, then the new trailer that just dropped today should clear up any of that confusion.
In the trailer, we see Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) and company come under attack by a local tribe of Native Americans. This naturally sets them off course in the cold, unforgiving wilderness. Unfortunately, Glass’ plan to get back on track does not sit well with his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) who conspires to get rid of Glass and his half-Native American son after Glass is seriously injured and rendered disabled after a bear mauls him. Fitzgerald attacks Glass and his son, leaving Glass for dead, but sometimes they come back…
Watch the trailer for yourself and tell me it’s not absolutely gripping:
Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption. THE REVENANT is directed and co-written by renowned filmmaker, Academy Award® winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel).
The Revenant hits theaters on December 25th.
