So there’s a new poster out for The Best of Me, a new romantic drama based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. In case you’ve been mercifully ignorant, he’s the author of The Notebook and his novels have been made into eight movies. This is why Best of Me’s movie poster seemed so familiar. It’s the same damn formula over and over again, with the last three movies prior to this one using the same eyeroll-inducing elements.
Boy is all up in girl’s face. They are about to kiss, but for some reason it looks like they are reveling in the smell of their breaths. Everything is dreamy-looking, and then in the corner, there’s another photo superimposed of the couple, because we didn’t get it the first time, amirite?
